Fitment & Safety
Last updated August 21, 2026
WrenchFit helps narrow research and preserve what you learn. It does not certify that a part is correct or safe for a vehicle.
Why fitment changes
Year, make, and model are only a starting point. Production dates, trim, engine, transmission, axle, brakes, steering, emissions, wheel specifications, prior repairs, and modifications can change what fits. Engine-swapped and vintage vehicles often require both chassis and installed-component information.
Before buying
- Inspect the vehicle and identify the component actually installed.
- Compare every available part number, casting number, connector, mounting point, dimension, material, capacity, and rating.
- Confirm left/right, front/rear, production date, and included hardware.
- Check current manufacturer documentation, technical service information, and open recalls.
- Ask the seller to confirm the exact listing and return policy; save the response and receipt.
Before installing
Safety-critical systems: Brakes, steering, suspension, wheels/tires, fuel, electrical, restraints, structural parts, and load-bearing components can cause serious injury, death, fire, or property damage if selected or installed incorrectly. Use qualified professional help and appropriate manuals, tools, torque specifications, and inspections.
Do not treat OCR text, a cross-reference, a seller badge, a saved donor vehicle, or a search result as installation approval. Stop if specifications conflict or if the vehicle differs from the recorded configuration.
Source labels
- Owner-entered: saved by the garage owner and not independently checked by WrenchFit.
- OCR / scanned: text detected from a photo; mistakes are possible and confirmation is required.
- Seller or catalog: reported by an external provider; verify against the actual listing and manufacturer.
- Government recall data: informational data from NHTSA; follow the manufacturer or authorized remedy process.
Report a concern
If a result is confusing, unsafe, or appears incorrect, do not rely on it. Report the problem with the vehicle, part number, source, and what conflicts.
